Thriller author Stella Cameron of Kirkland has a love affair with Louisiana. She visits twice a year, and has set many a novel in or near the Big Easy.
So it's fitting that she's working a killer storm and its aftermath into her latest book, ``Dread of Night,'' set on Bayou Teche, which runs through Lafayette, La.
Cameron and friends also are running around gathering books to send to hurricane victims. She's found a group that takes coloring books, story books and adult paperbacks.
Meanwhile she's nixed a fall trip to New Orleans.
``But they're determined to hold Mardi Gras, and I'd like to go,'' Cameron said.
