Scene #1

Harley 6'1'' emerald green eyes, dark straight shoulder length hair weighing at a shocking 310.pounds stands before the crowd of eager men and women who come out monday nights to the book store's readings. He thinks to himself it is a job, a job is money, and these ritzy ditzy people do listen to me. Tonight he had a bit of a surpize for the listeners Tonight he would read to them a little piece he himself wrote when he was 16.

So he began "A few years back at around Christmas time, I had to write something at school "What I want for Christmas" I was 15.

"My mother raised my little sister and me all on her own with no help from anyone. She worked hard and long hours but always made a point to be home at supper time for us. She would go without a lot of things so my sister and I would have new clothes, new shoes, or just a haircut. She never complained, but some days she sure looked unhappy and tired. Some nights i could hear her crying while she was in bed.

I remember when my sister was little, (there is 7 years between us) my Mom would make us supper.always a yucky veggie, some form of meat and potatoes or rice (rice was my favorite) and she would eat off my sister's plate when she was done. If I did it, I got into trouble. It was not until I was older I figured out those left overs were my mom's supper. I will always love my Mom.

Oh yes, what I want for Christmas. Well, my mom bought me a pair on Nike running shoes and they cost $180.0. 2 years ago. That was all I wanted; they were made poorly, they slowly fell apart but I could not throw them out, they were a present. The laces went into the garbage then I cut the tongues out of the shoes and now I have a pair of Nike slip-ons and I love them a

lot. I sometimes wear them out but mostly just use them for driving. Oh my, I did it again, I got sidetracked. I guess I have to share the little of this and the little of that to get what I want for Christmas.

My mom always taught my sister and me and still does; many acts of kindness get me further in life than a dollar. So for Christmas, I want to do some good, enjoy the family I have and laugh with them. I only want to be with my family for Christmas, the material things really do not matter."

He looked up and the room was all red eyed, people blowing there noses, and other hiding there feelings by looking down at there hands or the book they were holding.

There was a group of young women sitting up in the front, where they normally sat the youngest said look Deanna he has those slip on slippers on his feet now pointing with her finger. Never have they ever gave this young man a second glance tonight, and in harmony they said "we need to learn more about this man"...
